Our brief asked Barry to submit ideas for the re-branding of an historic house museum, Strangers’ Hall, and associated graphics and interpretation as part of a major re-display programme. We needed a creative solution to embody the idea of the museum and its varied collections in a fresh and original way, avoiding an obviously ‘heritage’ approach.
Barry presented a number of ideas, including a bold scheme which we chose without hesitation, because it was so appealing, different and ‘right’ for us. It allowed for the adaptation of a central strong image to suggest a variety of historical subjects and eras and still present a harmonious whole: no mean feat!
Our work for Strangers' Hall, Norwich holds a very special place in our hearts. The building, its long history and extensive and diverse range of contents - could almost talk and immediately made it one of those projects that just seemed to click from the word go. What a privilege and delight to work on such a unique project!
